Where Creativity Meets Care

Welcome to Cherish & Bloom
Hello! I'm Jodie, and I'm so glad you're here. My hope is that this will be a space where you feel seen, encouraged, and inspired — a cosy corner where creativity meets care.
I live in Melbourne with my husband and three kids, and I'm a collage artist, trained motherhood coach, writer, editor, and speaker. At the heart of all these roles is a deep desire to create and connect. That’s what Cherish & Bloom Creative is all about: sharing my stories so that you feel safe to share yours.
Art that Speaks to the Heart
The vision behind Cherish & Bloom is simple but powerful: connecting with mothers through art. I create artwork for both mothers and the professionals who support them – for homes, clinics, coaching spaces, and anywhere in between. My pieces reflect shared human experiences, sparking recognition and compassion. The kind of image that makes you stop and say, "Yes. I’ve felt that too."
Much of my work features vibrant colours and elements of nature. Some pieces are hopeful and uplifting; others reflect the deeper, more tender experiences of life – grief, overwhelm, uncertainty, healing. These artworks can also be used as therapeutic tools, supporting the beautiful, important work that healthcare providers already do. They offer a gentle opening to emotions that can be hard to put into words.
Living and Creating with ADHD
Motherhood turned out to be much more challenging than I'd expected. In 2021, I was diagnosed with ADHD – a moment that helped to make sense of so many struggles I’d carried silently, not just as a mother, but throughout my life. A late ADHD diagnosis can be incredibly validating and liberating. However, it also carries a quiet grief for what might have been, if only we’d known earlier.
I’m passionate about raising awareness of how ADHD shows up in women, especially in the context of motherhood. I want to help health professionals recognise neurodivergent traits, so the women they support receive care that is appropriate, effective, and truly meets their needs.
Understanding Matrescence
Matrescence – the transformations we go through as we become mothers and throughout motherhood – has been a life-changing concept for me. It gave me the language to understand the shift in identity I experienced, which is such a significant part of motherhood and is frequently overlooked in supporting mothers.
Naming that transformation opened the door to self-kindness. When we understand what's happening inside us, we can offer ourselves the grace we deserve.
I want that for you, too.
Why “Cherish & Bloom”?
The name came from my love of metaphors and flowers (despite the fact I’m terrible at gardening!) I often think of healing and growth in terms of nature: seeds breaking open in darkness, roots growing quietly underground, blossoms that appear after long seasons of care.
Growth is often slow and hidden. Sometimes we don’t even notice it in ourselves until something finally blooms.
We tend to our inner world with care and gentleness, and share what we’ve nurtured within, offering something beautiful to the world.
To cherish is to honour where we are now.
To bloom is to hold hope for what is to come.
This business is about nurturing the heart and the mind – both yours and mine - and trusting in the quiet strength of slow, steady growth.
What You’ll Find Here
This blog will be a place for stories and stillness. A space to share my artworks and the deeper meaning behind them. A place to reflect, feel, laugh and learn.
Whether you're a mother, a professional who supports mothers, or someone navigating both worlds – I hope you'll find something here that feels like a warm cup of tea.
Thank you for being here. I’m so glad we’ve found each other.
Let’s Stay Connected
If this post resonated with you, I'd love to stay connected. You can find me over on Instagram and Facebook , where I share more about motherhood, art and neurodivergence.
If you'd like to hear more of my story, including reflections on ADHD and matrescence, I was interviewed on Amy Taylor-Kabbaz's (matrescence activist and educator) podcast, The Happy Mama Movement, a few years ago. You can listen to that episode here
